Amazon Jungle Trekking 4D/3N

Discover the best of the Colombian Amazon in just 4 days—local culture, wildlife, kayaking, and night walks in the rainforest. Based in Puerto Nariño, a peaceful and eco-friendly town on the banks of the Amazon River, this experience offers authentic encounters with indigenous communities and breathtaking nature.

Day 1 – Welcome at the Maloca

You’ll be welcomed in a traditional indigenous maloca, a sacred space of gathering, harmony, and storytelling. This first day is designed to help your body and spirit adapt to the Amazon environment. You’ll join the local team for an introductory talk about the territory, native culture, and respectful practices for entering the rainforest. Depending on availability, you may participate in a symbolic encounter with traditional knowledge keepers. Enjoy a communal lunch and dinner, and sleep in a hammock under the ancestral roof of the maloca.

Day 2 – Deep Jungle Trek

After breakfast, we’ll begin our jungle trek, walking for 4 to 6 hours depending on the group’s pace. Along the way, we’ll pause to observe birds, medicinal plants, giant trees, and potential wildlife tracks. Around midday, we’ll have lunch in the heart of the forest. Our route ends at a remote base camp where we’ll set up hammocks, cook together over a fire, and share stories around the flames. After dinner, you can join a night walk to listen to the forest’s deep sounds and spot nocturnal wildlife.

Day 3 – Varillal Ecosystem Exploration

Today we explore the varillal ecosystem, known for its white soil and unique biodiversity. We’ll hike 2 to 4 hours to learn about species adapted to this rare habitat and practice basic jungle tracking and orientation techniques. Then, we’ll head to a nearby stream for traditional handline fishing. Lunch will be prepared with what we’ve gathered and caught (seasonal availability applies). In the afternoon, enjoy free time to relax in a hammock, read, or simply take in the sounds of the jungle. At night, an optional second night walk is available.

Day 4 – Return Trek

At dawn, we’ll take a short walk to observe animal tracks or early morning sounds. After breakfast, we’ll break camp and start our return hike, walking 4 to 6 hours through alternate jungle trails that reveal new scenery. We’ll stop for lunch along the way. At the end of the trail, transport will take you back to Leticia, closing this transformative journey through the untouched Amazon rainforest.
